Can I make an electronic copy for use in an e-reserve system? Ask

There are licence restrictions or the terms are unclear about whether or not your college may incorporate limited parts of the licensed materials into electronic reserve collections (or electronic course readings), which are collections of electronic copies of materials made and stored on a secure network, for use by students in connection with specific courses of instruction. Please contact your library for clarification.

Can I post a copy in a course management system? Ask

There are licence restrictions or the terms are unclear about whether or not your college may incorporate limited parts of the licensed materials in course management systems like Blackboard, D2L, or Moodle. Please contact your library for clarification.

Can I put it in a course pack? Ask

There are licence restrictions or the terms are unclear about whether or not your college incorporate limited parts of the licensed materials into course packs, which are compilations of materials (such as journal articles, book chapters, and other excerpts) assembled by an academic institution for use by its students in a class for the purposes of instruction. Please contact your library for clarification.

Can I link to it? Yes

You may create, save, and distribute to other authorized users persistent links (also known as durable URLs) to individual pages or items (such as articles or ebooks) within the resource .  

Can I make print or electronic copies? Yes

You may make limited print and electronic copies of the material.

For Libraries

Is ILL allowed? Yes

Your library can share one printed copy of an individual item from this resource with other libraries for use by one of their patrons. Electronic transmission may also be available. For further inquiries, contact your library.

Regarding use in course packs, CMS’s, and e-reserves, and durable URLs: these uses are only permitted “so long as each work is retrieved directly from the on-line database system in a manner that causes a ‘hit’ to be registered on the on-line system for each and every print or digital copy” (clause 3.8).
