Based on the licence, while the majority of the materials within the database are disseminated under the terms and conditions of the Statistics Canada Open Licence Agreement (https://www.statcan.gc.ca/eng/reference/licence), there are some exceptions such as the Postal Code0M Conversion File, Postal Codes OM by Federal Ridings File and Postal CodeOM Conversion File Plus. These Canada Post materials are subject to a separate licence subscribed by Sheridan. Uses are generally permitted for: o Teaching and learning purposes - e.g., students can download Postal Code Conversion File on their laptop to do their assignments. This includes projects, maps, analytical papers, etc. Faculty can download and use the Postal Code Conversion File in teaching exercises. o Research purposes - e.g., can be used in analysis to write articles that are published in journals. The data is not shared but the results are published. This also includes thesis for Masters or Doctorate where results are required to be public. Publication of data is limited to 1% of the product. o Planning purposes - where the institution can use the information in planning student recruitment activities or find out where these students are coming from.
